Gmail Users Can Now Save Photo Attachments Directly To Google Photos Leave a comment

When you receive image attachments in Gmail, in the past you would have the option to either save it directly to your computer, or save it to Google Drive. But what if you wanted to save it to Google Photos? That would require you moving the file manually to Google Photos, which can be troublesome and not particularly efficient.

The good news is that Google has announced an update to Gmail in which users will now be given a third option that will let them save photo attachments directly to Google Photos. According to Google, “Now when you get a photo attachment in a Gmail message, you can save it directly to Google Photos with a new “Save to Photos” button. You’ll see it next to the existing “Add to Drive” button on the attachment and while previewing the image attachment. Currently, this is only available for JPEG images.”

This feature is currently live and according to Google, has started to roll out to users from the 26th of May and will take place over the next 15 days, so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry as it should eventually be enabled for you. There is no action needed on your end and if you see the option to save to Google Photos, that means the feature is now available for you.
